Welcome to fall! Black & Brown Babes greets the upcoming season with a couple of announcements.
First, we continue to support and uplift our members on our Facebook group (https://facebook.com/groups/blackandbrownbabes). It's not easy to pave a way forward when our raison d'etre has been in-person gatherings and safe spaces. But social support is more important than ever, and if you find you need a spot to vent, then please join us there. We have great resources and amazing people. If you need help, just ask.
Second, one of our organizers, Piya Willwerth, is leaving to focus on some classes she will be taking, as well as fulfill some necessary family obligations. From Piya:
"Thank you so much for letting me be a part of this! It has been an incredibly important experience for me. I wish we could have done the Comfort Station residency -- I had so many amazing plans.
I feel that it's important for me to re-center myself so I can use new skills and new resources to continue to help the community fight injustice. I'm still here -- just working in the background. Thank you again, and let's #DefundCPD."
